About QuantumListener
Listen to the week in quantum research.
QuantumListener is an autonomous, source-backed podcast station built for the Agents for Humans Hackathon using the Strands Agents SDK and AWS.
Why we built it
Quantum computing research moves incredibly fast. Every week, arXiv releases waves of papers spanning quantum algorithms, error correction, hardware, measurement and sensing, simulation, and more. For researchers, students, and educators, keeping up can consume a surprising amount of time.
What if you could simply listen to the week in quantum research?
QuantumListener turns the weekly stream of new quant-ph papers into a coherent podcast you can hear while commuting, exercising, or working in the lab.
What happens each week
- Finds new and substantially updated quantum-physics papers.
- Deduplicates revisions of the same work.
- Classifies papers into five major quantum research areas.
- Produces accessible and technical summaries.
- Separates metadata, author-reported results, and AI interpretation.
- Builds a source-grounded podcast script.
- Generates narration, transcripts, citations, artwork, and show notes.
- Publishes the completed episode and RSS feed automatically.
Built on AWS
The agent workflow uses the Strands Agents SDK with Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Polly narration, and AWS infrastructure including S3, DynamoDB, EventBridge Scheduler, SQS, and EC2.
Scientific provenance matters
An abstract saying “we demonstrate…” is an author claim—not automatically an independently established fact. QuantumListener keeps evidence types separate and preserves links to the original arXiv sources, helping listeners distinguish what a paper reports from what has been independently verified.
Agents for humans
Checking for updates, sorting information, deduplicating content, summarizing sources, generating structured outputs, and moving work between steps can each look small. Repeated every day or every week, they take meaningful human time.
AWS and Strands turn those repetitive steps into an automated workflow while people stay focused on understanding, judgment, creativity, and discovery. That is what “Agents for Humans” means to us: reduce repetitive work and give people more time for meaningful work.
A big thank you to AWS for helping turn this idea into a working agentic system.
